E-School

Does your computer often shut down for no reason? Become slow after only a few hours of being on? Freeze up allot? You may think its your computer that is causing this but in most cases its not. So its not necessarily your computer or even a virus. It could just be the summer heat. Heat is one of the computers enemies. The cooler your computer is, the better it runs. What make it do this when its hot? Well the extra heat and humidity gets into the microscopic transistors inside your computers components (such as the video card, sound card, harddrive and processor) and breaks down the communication between them. This can become annoying having to save your work after a few minutes. Well how do I fix this? One good step toward fixing this is to reboot your computer often. In the short time the computer restarts allows the computers processor time to cool down and rest. Another thing you can do to help it is find some heat lowering solutions from your computer maker (Gateway, Dell, ect.) or
visit your processor maker (most of the time intel or amd) http://www.intel.com or http://www.amd.com. If your computers motherboard has sensors on it you will be able to use motherboard monitor (http://mbm.livewiredev.com) to monitor your systems heat management and performance.

We have installed and are using the Norton Utilities 2002. It's great.. they are on sale now at the Surfmore office for $45.00 installed and configured, just bring your tower in for the install and first service on your computer.. it tells you and fixes all problems with your pc.. you would be amazed at the problems you thought your perfect computer actually has.. on this computer we had 1 file missing, could not find which file was missing, we ran the disk, which we found out we had 350 small errors, where we deleted stuff, sent to recycle bin and so on, but some of the stuff was still in the computer, after running the disk it fixed 349 errors and told us which file we needed for our other problem.. anyway.. I'm sold!!  Jean
