~But God~

I was blinded and could not see
Headed in a direction not good for me
I thought all hope was totally lost
But God!
He led me to His cross!

I was bound in captivity
Sin and shame overwhelmed me
I did not know I was deceived
But God!
He gave me eyes to see!

I thought I lost all I had loved
I wasted years in the miry mud
I was filled with desperation and despair
But God!
He came and let me know He really did care

When there was no one else around
And all my tears fell to the ground
The pain seemed endless in my heart
But God
He gave me a brand new start!

Step by step I began to follow Him
As His blood washed away my sin
He filled me with His glorious light
Thank God!
He won the battle for my life!

Now I walk and I can see
All the wonders He has done for me
For once I was lost but now I am found
FOR GOD!
Placed my feet on Holy Ground.

He sent Jesus Christ His Precious Son
To finish the work He had begun
For God so loved everyone of us
And now in Jesus we do trust
Now I know when I cannot see
I can always trust there is a but GOD for me.

You see the enemy is already defeated
And God will crush Him under Jesus' feet
So no matter what he tries each and every day
Stand your ground and shout and say
"BUT MY GOD WILL MAKE A WAY!"

Victory my friends we have in His love
Warring angels HE will send from above
To deliver us from the heartache of this place
And bring us home to see His face
So when life and trials bring you down
Remember in heaven who wears the crown
And speak to those cares that hurt so deep inside
And say, "BUT GOD" is the One on my side

So praise His name and never doubt
For sin and shame will not win out
For just when the enemy thinks he has won
There is a "BUT GOD" moment for everyone.
