A Poem for You my Friend

What a gift your husband Bill was for you
Loving you with all he had was all he knew to do
Your love, your beauty, your faithfulness to him
Gave him the hope he needed when things were grim.

To love you, Netty, was his goal in life
Ever since the day he took you as his wife
He knew deep inside right from the very start
All he ever wanted was to be in your heart.

All the years the Lord gave you to share together
Stood strong in faith in spite of stormy weather
Two became one and neither ever gave up
For you both knew the One who filled your cup.

Your children were blessings added to his life
What more could he want but them and his wife
Yet he knew there was something even more
He yearned for His Savior to knock at his door.

With the Lord at the head he knew nothing would be too hard
Taking all his steps in this life he knew his heart He would guard
Trusting Jesus day after day as he walked his time in this place
Knowing always that one day He would see His glorious face

And now that time has come and in heaven Bill now stands
Knowing he will now walk with Jesus hand in hand
And all the pain and suffering his body went through
Is all gone in the presence of the Savior he knew.

He is rejoicing and now it is you who feels the loss
Take your tears to Jesus for He bore them on the cross
Your heart He will heal, He will fill that empty space
And carry you through till the day you see His face.

We are thankful Lord for Bill who loved her the most
We pray now Lord for you to keep her ever so close
Carrying her heart in Your hands as You take his place
Bring her Lord to Your throne room Lord filled with Your grace

Comfort her and her children as only You can do
Fill her with Your presence in all she attempts to do
Remind her Lord every day of Your precious love
Letting her know her gift now is with you in heaven above.

I love you my friend, Pat
