Fried Okra

4 cups sliced okra
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup cornmeal (more if needed)
Vegetable oil

Combine okra, milk, salt, and pepper; let stand
1 hour or until most of milk is absorbed. Dredge
okra in cornmeal. Fry in deep hot oil until golden
brown. Drain on paper towels. Yields 4 servings.

Recipe # 2 for Fried Okra

1 cup cornmeal
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Coat okra with egg. Mix salt, pepper and
cornmeal. Dredge okra with cornmeal. Fry
in deep oil and drain on paper towels.
